Sophie Timms

Embroidery Artist and Teacher

Modern Hand Embroidery Artist Sophie Timms is the founder of Mindful Mantra Embroidery; @mindfulmantra_embroidery on Instagram or www.mindfulmantraembroidery.com. Sophie's work can be found in Love Embroidery magazine, Mollie Makes magazine, and she co-authored embroidery book Creative Embroidery and Beyond in 2023. Sophie is a self-taught embroidery artist, who has read and watched all there is to know about hand embroidery, so that you don't have to. With a desire to teach others, Sophie is best-placed as an instructor to share her tips, tricks and techniques. In her membership programme, The Embroiderist Academy, Sophie covers all the basic tips and tricks to help beginners to embroidery, and also encourages creativity to those who discovered the hobby some time ago. She looks forward to welcoming you along for the ride!

  • Does it matter what skill level I am?

    Not at all! If you're a beginner, there is a comprehensive list of courses to get you started. With the members-only community, you can ask any questions you need and have support 24/7. If you're already an experienced stitcher, you can get started with the more advanced projects and growing collection of PDF Patterns.

  • How much does the Academy cost?

    Membership to the Academy is £15 per month, which is automatically billed on the same date each month. While the price will be increasing in the future for new members, you can lock in this price of £15 now for the lifetime of your membership.

  • Do I have to keep up with the new content every month?

    Nope! The Academy is open for enrolment at any time, and once enrolled you have access to all of the materials, including those from previous months. Simply pick up the projects whenever you fancy, completely at your own pace.

  • Can I cancel if I change my mind?

    Of course you can! There are no lock ins and you can cancel any time. Simply log in to your account before your next billing cycle and cancel your subscription.
